Thank You for your interest in being a volunteer coach with Mingus Mountain Youth Sports.
Coaches are a critical part of the success of the youth teams in the Verde Valley.
Becoming a coach is a relatively simple task, but the time and effort put into coaching kids throughout the season is a much larger commitment. Please know that coaches spend 3 evenings per week in practices, and have games every Saturday, which will include traveling to different parts of the state for away games. The youth tackle football season runs from late July to mid October, and could run into November if teams make it to the playoffs.
Coaches will be required to pass a national background check as well as complete coaching and concussion certifications thru USA Football. Coaches will also need to read, be familiar with and sign the League Rule Book as well as a Mingus Mountain Youth Sports Coaches Code of Conduct.
Coaches are expected to keep a safe environment as well as help manage player and team equipment throughout the season.
We are looking for coaches that will commit to being good role models. We strive to develop not only the player's football skills but also their life skills. We need to show our young players how to be competitive, but also how to handle conflict and adversity in a healthy and productive manner. Basic knowledge about football is helpful but not required. One of our top priorities is to help our players have a safe and positive experience and to want to continue playing football in the future. Winning games is NOT the top priority! Feel free to complete the application if you are willing to be part of a team and follow our league rules and philosophy.
Please submit the application below with your information to apply for a coaching position.
